Building costs rose by 2.5 per cent year-on-year in October

Building costs were 2.5 per cent higher in October 2012 than in October 2011. The prices of labour inputs in construction went up by 1.7 per cent, the prices of materials by 2.5 per cent and those of other inputs by 4.2 per cent from one year ago. This is indicated by Statistics Finland's Building Cost Index 2010=100.

From September to October, the total index was unchanged. The prices of labour inputs fell by 0.4 per cent, the prices of materials went up 0.2 per cent and those of other inputs rose by 0.1 per cent from the month before.
