Building costs grew by 1.8 per cent year-on-year in December

Building costs were 1.8 per cent higher in December 2012 than in December 2011. The prices of labour inputs in construction went up by 1.2 per cent, the prices of materials by 1.9 per cent and those of other inputs by 3.3 per cent from one year ago. This is indicated by Statistics Finland's Building Cost Index 2010=100.

From November to December, the total index of building costs remained unchanged. The prices of labour inputs and materials were also at the same level. Prices of other inputs increased by 0.3 per cent from November.
