Men remarry more often than women

According to Statistics Finland's data on population changes, remarriage is more common for men than women. Mens remarriage is also more common when examined by age group, except for persons aged under 35, where womens remarriage was more common than mens for the second year in a row. Remarriage decreases gradually with age.

The categories of marital status are unmarried, married, divorced, widowed, partner in a registered same-sex partnership, divorced from a registered same-sex partnership and widowed from a registered same-sex partnership.
