Number of debtors in enforcement matters around 291,000 at the end of 2022

According to Statistics Finland, there were two per cent more debtors in enforcement matters at the end of 2022 than in the corresponding period one year earlier. At the end of 2022, the number of debtors in enforcement matters was 291,158 and their total debt in recovery proceedings was EUR 7.6 billion. During the whole of 2022, the total number of debtors in enforcement matters was 570,070, that is, for 50 per cent of debtors the pendency of enforcement matters ended before the end of 2022. The enforcement matter’s pendency ends with the repayment of the debt or an impediment to enforcement discovered by the enforcement officer.
