Transport in domestic waterborne traffic decreased by 22 per cent in February 2023

According to Statistics Finland's preliminary data, the goods volume in domestic waterborne traffic totalled 0,3 million tonnes in February 2023. Transport in domestic waterborne traffic decreased by 22 per cent compared to February 2022. In February 2023 domestic water transport took place only in coastal waterways.

Oil products and timber were transported most in domestic waterborne traffic in February

Oil products were transported most, in total 172,122 tonnes, which was 63 per cent of all transport. The second most transported was timber, 34,881 tonnes, which was 13 per cent of all transport.
