Transport in domestic waterborne traffic decreased by 25 per cent in March 2023

According to Statistics Finland's preliminary data, the goods volume in domestic waterborne traffic totalled 0,3 million tonnes in March 2023. Transport in domestic waterborne traffic decreased by 25 per cent compared to March 2022. In March 2023 domestic water transport took place only in coastal waterways.

Oil products and timber were transported most in domestic waterborne traffic in March

Oil products were transported most, in total 154,434 tonnes, which was 45 per cent of all transport. The second most transported was timber, 73,839 tonnes, which was 22 per cent of all transport.
