Transport in domestic waterborne traffic decreased by 26 per cent in October 2023

According to Statistics Finland's preliminary data, the goods volume in domestic waterborne traffic totalled 0.4 million tonnes in October 2023. Transport in domestic waterborne traffic decreased by 26 per cent compared to October 2022. In October 2023 domestic water transport took place almost only in coastal waterways.

Oil products were transported most in domestic waterborne traffic in October

Oil products were transported most, in total 217,462 tonnes, which was 55 per cent of all transport. The second most transported was timber, 53,051 tonnes, which was 13 per cent of all transport.
