Output of the national economy grew in January from the year before, slight decrease from the previous month

In January 2019, working-day adjusted output was 1.5 per cent higher than one year before. Seasonally adjusted output fell by 0.2 per cent in January from the month before. According to revised data, working-day adjusted output increased in December 2018 by 2.3 per cent (was 2.7) from December 2017.

Description: The Trend Indicator of Output endeavours to forecast the monthly development of the national economy. It contains index series since January 1996. The data are in the form of an index whose base year is always the previous year. The data have been calculated as original and working day adjusted series for the whole economy and for three main industries. A seasonally adjusted and a trend series are also calculated for the whole economy.

Change: New seasonal adjustment software adopted

Starting from the September 2015 data, a new seasonal adjustment software JDemetra+ will be adopted in the Trend Indicator of Output.
