| Description: | The index of producer prices of agricultural products measures developments in the producer prices of vegetable and animal products. The index shows by how much the producer prices of agricultural products have changed when compared with the index base period. As a rule, the weights of the index are calculated from the agricultural accounts of national accounts. The base year is changed at five-year intervals, when the weight structure is also reviewed. The index in use at the moment is 2010=100. A more detailed description of the content of the index is given in Eurostat’s publication Handbook for EU agricultural price statistics.
