Data:	Latest release: More than half of students were employed during their studies 20 Mar 2013 According to Statistics Finland's data, employment during studies was more widespread in 2011 than one year earlier. Fifty-seven per cent of students were employed during their studies. The share of students employed during studies grew by nearly one percentage point from the previous year. Employment during studies was most widespread among university students, as 61 per cent of them had an employment contract while studying. The share of students employed during polytechnic studies was 59 per cent, and employment among students in upper secondary vocational education was 57 per cent. Next release: Statistical releases will not be issued in English from these statistics in 2013.
Description:	These statistics describe employment during studies among students attending post-comprehensive school education. The data on employment among students are produced by combining Statistics Finland’s individual-based data files on students with the data of employment statistics. No surveys are conducted among students. The statistics contain a diversity of data on the education and employment of students. The statistics have been produced annually since 1995. In 2005 the population of the statistics was modified to include only students 18 years of age or older. Statistics for the years 1995–2004 include the employment data of students younger than 18 years of age, unless otherwise indicated. In accordance with the Statistics Act, the personal data from which these statistics are compiled are confidential. As a rule, the statistics produced from them are public. Read full description >>>
