Change to the income concept used in the basic releases of the income distribution statistics

From the statistical reference year 2011 onwards, the income distribution statistics will start to use households' disposable money income as the main concept in their basic releases. The new income concept corresponds better with international recommendations and practices. It does not include imputed income items, of which the main one is imputed income from owner-occupied dwellings. The new income concept does not either include sales profits (taxable realized capital gains). During the transition period, data are also released with income concepts that include income from owner-occupied dwellings and realized capital gains. (20.3.2013)
